The adolescent and young adult AYA oncology patients group, defied as individuals younger than 40 years old according to the National Comprehensive Cancer Network NCCNis a special group that has not shared the same survival improvement seen in the last 30 years comparing to the older and younger patients which was shown by the AYA Oncology Progress Review Group in in United States [ 2 ]. Although occupying less in the whole population, AYA HCC patients were believed with the characters of higher malignant degree, later diagnosis and poorer outcome.
Few studies have reported the clinical characteristics and outcomes of young adult patients diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma HCC.
